At 1851 station 293 was dispatched to assist station 294 with a vehicle rollover and 1 occupant trapped. 293 Rescue responded and assisted with vehicle stabilization and extract. Crews were on scene for roughly one hour before clearing.
Last night around 7pm station 293 was requested to assist station 278 (Swissvale) with at the time a 2nd alarm Apartment fire. 293 Quint and 293 Utility responded and arrived on scene to an apartment building with fie through the roof. 293 Quint set up aerial operations for a defensive attack. Crews were on scene for roughly 5 1/2 hours before clearing.
Earlier this morning around 2:30am Station 293 was dispatched to the 1100 block of Brierly Lane for a vehicle accident with entrapment. 293 chief along with Baldwin EMS and West Mifflin Police arrived on scene to confirm that the patient was indeed trapped inside the vehicle. The vehicle had flipped over a guardrail and rolled on its roof pinning the driver inside the vehicle. 293 Rescue and 294 Rescue responded and stabilized then extricated the patient from the vehicle. Crews remained on scene for a little over an hour.
Station 293 along with 113 assisted Whitaker VFC last night with a vehicle accident in the middle of the snow storm. Good job to all crews!
Last night station 293 was dispatched for cat stuck in a pipe near the 7 row of Midway Drive. 293 Rescue responded and found a small kitten stuck in a 3" PVC drain pipe. Crews were able to rescue the kitten by digging a 2ft hole and removing a section of the PVC pipe.
Crews were onscene for roughly 1 hour before being dispatched for a Possible Commercial Structure Fire in Homestead.
