Last night station 293 was dispatched for cat stuck in a pipe near the 7 row of Midway Drive. 293 Rescue responded and found a small kitten stuck in a 3" PVC drain pipe. Crews were able to rescue the kitten by digging a 2ft hole and removing a section of the PVC pipe.

Crews were onscene for roughly 1 hour before being dispatched for a Possible Commercial Structure Fire in Homestead.

Station 293 would like to thank and remember all the military personal that made the ultimate sacrifice! If it was not for these brave men and women, freedom would not be free.

Freedom’s Memorial

This day is set aside
to honor those
who took the chance to die.

But they have died in vain
if we ever forget
the reason why.

Freedom can be like time
slipping away
before we even know.

But we all have the choice
more, a duty
to battle freedoms’ foe.

Let us give thanks this day
to all those brave
who paid the highest cost.

Not take it for granted
and realize
it easily could be lost.

With the upcoming Memorial day weekend and the unofficial start of the summer, station 293 would like to share some important grilling safety tips!

Is your home equipped with a CO Alarm?

Often called the invisible killer, carbon monoxide is an odorless, colorless gas created when fuels (such as gasoline, wood, coal, natural gas, propane, oil, and methane) burn incompletely. In the home, heating and cooking equipment that burn fuel can be sources of carbon monoxide.
